Itinerary
Inevitably, this tour involves motorways at times, so riders must be on min 300cc bikes and motorway legal.
Day 1 330 miles
Our adventure starts at our meet point in Droitwich (or at an agreed point further north if that works better) From there, we'll head north up the motorway, with a diversion through the Lake District or the Northern Pennines and into Galloway to our base for the next two days. An evening meal is included here, and will give us chance to get to know riders on the longer tour option.
NOTE. YOU ARE WELCOME TO MAKE YOUR OWN WAY AND MEET US AT THE HOTEL IF YOU PREFER.
Day 2 185 miles
Our ride through the three passes in Lowther Hills are simply stunning. You will be sorely tempted to go like the clappers as you can see far ahead, but we must be alert for sheep and bends that can appear from nowhere. The area has the highest inhabited villages in Scotland, due to the rich variety of minerals to be found here.
Day 3 175 miles
Todays coastal route hugs the coastline through the whole Dumfriesshire region. Due to the warmer Gulf Stream Tropical plants are able to flourish here and a number of (tropical) botanical Gardens exist on the Mull. Once off the Mull you will visit /go through places such as Port William, Whithorn (the seat of Christianity in Scotland) and Wigtown (known as the book town).
Day 4 Mileage depends on destination
Homeward bound. An early start with easy stages down the motorway -- or you are welcome to ride home independently / divert on the way.
