NORMANDY BEACHES 2025

01/15

Leave the planning to us - just turn up and enjoy!

Ideal for riders interested in the sites and scenery of the Normandy landings, and a great taster for a first tour outside the UK.

The tour takes in the beaches and surrounding sites where, on 6th June 1944 the Allies mounted a massive amphibious assault aimed to end WW2.

 14th to 18th May 2025

Itinerary

The focus of the tour is historical, whilst including relaxed, low mileage days with time to socialise and enjoy the area and the cuisine. The meet point is Newhaven ferry port, but we will be riding down from the Worcester and Shrewsbury areas so you're welcome to join us on the trip down.

The itinerary is loose, and can be varied around people's preferences. You are also welcome to explore on your own if you wish.

Day 1

We will depart on the 5pm ferry from Newhaven, arriving around 22.00, and checking into an Ibis  hotel in Dieppe (checking in there at about 22.30)

Day 2

Leaving Dieppe, we'll head west, visiting a selection of the sites of interest on the way to our hotel near Bayeux where we'll stay for 2 nights.

Day 3

From our base, we'll visit the more Western sites then back to base for a sociable evening.

Day 4

Leaving the Bayeux area, we'll work our way East  for our final night on the outskirts of Honfleur. A walk (or taxi ride) will take us into the Vieux-Bassin (old harbour), lined with 16th- to 18th-century townhouses at the centre of this beautiful town.

Day 5

We head to Dieppe, to catch the ferry home, parting company on arrival in Newhaven.

Merville battery

Sainte-Mère-Église
