Dates: 5-13 July
Minimum 4, maximum 14
Day 1
Our tour starts as we meet at Fishguard ferry port for a morning sailing to Rosslare. You can start your holiday with a gentle ride to the port, or book yourself a hotel the night before to fully enjoy Pembrokeshire. On arrival in the late afternoon, our hotel for the night is 15 minutes away, near Wicklow.
Day 2
Approx 190 miles
The following day our route includes a scenic ride over Knockmealden Mountains with stunning views of the valley below before we pick up The Wild Atlantic Way south of Cork. After lunch we continue to follow the coastline as the road curves around headlands and sandy beaches. At the end of the day we arrive at our base for the next three nights in Bantry, there you can unpack and relax in the comfort of our four star accommodation with pool, and explore the lively town of Bantry. A meal is provided on our first night here.
Days 3 and 4 75-100 miles per day
Close to our base location is The Beara Peninsula, and to the south is the Mizen Peninsula which we will explore over the next two days rideouts. Both have stunningly scenic roads and majestic coastal landscapes. On out ride to Mizen Head, the most south westerly point in Ireland you can take a walk over the Arched Bridge or boost your fitness taking the 99 steps down (and up!) to the Signal Station.
Day 5
Approx. 132 miles
We leave Bantry and head northwards, incorporating the Ring of Kerry, a National Park which is Probably one of the most well-known riding routes in the area with scenery ranging from the rugged mountains as you climb out of Killarney, the quieter roads of the Black Valley and Ballaghasheen Pass to the coastal road of The Wild Atlantic Way. A novelty ride on the Valentia Island ferry has us heading to our overnight stop around the Dingle Peninsula before moving onwards.
Day 6
Approx 183 miles
Today we take in the Dingle Peninsula, and the Conor Pass with its stunning views, then we hop onto the Tarbert ferry, and onwards to our next base near Galway where we settle in for two nights.
Day 7
Approx 164 miles
The Conemara loop is a fabulous mix of coast and mountain if you’re joining us on on today’s rideout, running along the coast west of Galway, then cutting north with the Connemara National park to the west of us. Westport is the most northerly point of our tour, before taking a direct route south again to our hotel.
Day 8 135 miles
A relaxed ride west to east, to get us within easy distance of the ferry port.
Day 9
After a leisurely breakfast, we head to Dublin for our early afternoon ferry to Holyhead, and the end of the tour. You may wish to book yourself a hotel if you have a way to go, so that you can take a leisurely ride through Snowdonia on the way home. Alternatively, the North Wales Expressway takes you out of the area and to Chester quicker.
